WHO?: Sam
gets his big break this fortnight as firefighter Adam
Benjamin in the 13th series of London's Burning. And it
looks like Adam is set to shake things up a bit at Blue
Watch. "He's a bit of a wheeler-dealer" laughs
Sam. "He runs all kinds of different businesses, and
he's got various magnetic signs for his van including
Tree Surgeon and Plumber" BEFORE THIS?: Apart from small roles in The Bill, much of Sam's previous work has been in the theatre and he has appeared in Twelfth Night and Henry V. Sam admits that he's not the only one looking forward to the financial rewards of working on a top TV series; "My parents were worried about me when I wasn't earning any money, so now they're relieved OFF-SCREEN?: Tipped as Blue Watch's new heart-throb, Sam who lives in London, is happily involved with his girlfriend who works in the capital's financial district. WHATS NEXT?: Having just finished filming London's Burning, Sam's off to Barcelona to work on writing projects. But he's keeping his fingers crossed that he'll return to the fire-fighting drama. "I think I'll be nicknamed Fireman Samand I can handle that" he laughs. "But I'd love to come back in the next series,, the doors been left open" OH AND NOT FORGETTING: Despite learning the ropes with real firemen, Sam's first day of filming nearly ended in disaster. "We were doing a scene with a 100-foot high ladder when part of it collapsed and I was left dangling"he recalls. "I was strapped on but I suddenly realised I wasn't as cool about heights as I thought I was!" |
