LONDON'S BURNING - THE MOVIE

With the exception of Bayleaf, the members of Blue Watch react badly with the new recruit Firewoman Josie Ingham. The first shout is to a block of garages on fire, however the lads all get stuck in leaving Josie to keep the public back. Meanwhile Vaseline is working on the quiet as a gardener and accidentally leaves the bonfire smouldering. Later that night the Watch are called to a shed fire where Vaseline has been working. Knowing what he has d one Vaseline reluctantly keeps out of the way. New recruit Josie Ingham also earns respect from the watch after attending a call to a block of flats, where a man has a curtain ring stuck on an odd piece of his body. Vaseline realises what he has been up t o and calls Josie up to help. She then informs \lquote Tate\rquote ice would reduce the swelling. The watch then give her a nickname \lquote The Ice maiden. More serious problems follow when Blue Watch is called to a house fire where a mother has left the children alone in the hose. Sadly a child is killed and Bayleaf reacts badly towards the Childs mother. Ethnic a black fire fighter is also having trouble fitting in as the people in his block of flats cannot accept that he is a fire fighter. Ethnic tries to keep this quiet b u t is eventually spotted by a neighbour. He is then subjected to racism from his neighbours including someone putting a burning rag through his letterbox. However he goes for promotion and is offered the Job of leading hand at a neighbouring station. The W a tch decide a celebration meal is in order on his last shift. Sadly on the eve of Ethnics last day at Blackwall, a drugs war starts off at his tower block the police are called and a riot starts. Cars are set alight and Blue Watch are called out. Hallam ob s erves the car not knowing they were going to be attacked by a gang of rioters. He informs the Watch to put a jet on the car. Charisma sets to work and puts a jet on it. The ladder is then subjected to an attack by the rioters, Hallam orders everyone back in the cab and to lock the doors. Charisma doesn\rquote t make it and runs off being chased by a gang of youths. He then runs to the Tower Block and is confronted by more youths. Ethnic now on his balcony sees a fire fighter in distress and runs down to help him. Sadly as he pulls Charisma out the way he is hit on the head by a paving slab and named as a traitor and hits the ground. The watch return to the station and sit down to eat Ethnics fair well meal without him.
